2026 Spring Amateur Golf Tournament

The Dona Filipa Hotel, from the very start at reception when checking in to checkout I have to say that the staff, room, food, bar area and all facilities were first class. The staff in all departments were extremely helpful and very accommodating at all times. The staff at San Lorenzo Golf were also excellent.

The San Lorenzo golf course…it is my favourite course in the Algarve ever since I played there some 18/20 years ago.
I realise that due to the fire the facilities are not up to standard that we expect in the Algarve. Hopefully we will see all building completed for next years tournament. I believe from talking to staff members the course is to receive attention particularly the buggy paths and general maintenance.

I really enjoy my Golf in the Algarve, but I would like to say that I would really like to see at least other course in Vale de Lobo or Quinta de Lago be added to the tournament rota. Playing same course 4/5 times in a week does not have the challenge that I enjoy most. It would be nice to play one of the other courses in the area.

We are now back home after your well organisiert holiday to Almancil.
Everething was great the Hotel Dona Filipa, the shuttlebus to San Lorenzo and Pinheiros Altos, from and to Air Port and the tee times.
At home we are missing the blue sky and summer temperaturen.
My wife and I thank you for your perfect organisation.

We loved the Dona Filipa hotel, the rooms were perfect, the meals were plentiful and delicious and the staff were always polite and helpful.

Dona Filipa:
Great hotel, probably the 4th visit here, everything works. The breakfast is very good and the dinner was also very good. The room was spacious, although there was no heat from the air conditioner, but it was not freezing.

Pestana Dom Joao II:
A solid hotel where everything works. Good breakfast and excellent value for money. 

The golf courses:
They are all familiar and good. San Lorenzo is my personal favorite, restaurant is Ok. Quinta Do Lago courses are great, restaurants is good. My husband liked Pinheiros Altos, Sea Bass in golf-restaurant is very good. Vale Da Pinta is also a nice course for club players and restaurant is good.

We had a wonderful trip. The hotel Dona Filipa was fab, breakfast was so good and the staff were super friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Both golf courses were excellent.  We had high expectation of San Lorenzo given its rating but were still impressed with the condition for mid-November.  On Pinheros Altos, we had no expectation on this course but were really impressed with how playable it was, lots of different holes but the course, again, was in a great condition.  We would definitely look to play both of these again next time we travel.

The airport transfer was perfect, signage was clear and the bus/ car was very clean – no complaints there whatsoever

I guess the only negatives (which you cannot help) is that we found the area to be quite expensive, particularly the bars and restaurants down next the Dona Felipa – more expensive than other parts of the Algarve.  And not having a shop/ supermarket nearby (walking distance) was a bit inconvenient.  But these are things you can’t do anything about.

We enjoyed our stay very much and found the hotel (Hotel Dona Filipa) to be very pleasant with helpful staff. Golf at San Lorenzo was also good with the course in better condition than many in the Algarve through the drought and backlash from Covid. The staff at San Lorenzo are doing a good job.
