Heritage & Nature

Penha Longa is a golf resort situated in Sintra, only 30 minutes drive from Lisbon. The Penha Longa forms part of the Protected Landscape Area of Sintra and Cascais.

Quinta da Penha Longa, in Sintra, Portugal, is a relevant historical site because the first monastery of the Order of St. Jerome was built there in 1355.

A good complement to the Atlantico

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the Penha Longa Monastery 9-hole golf course completes very well its sister course, the Championship Atlantico. The Penha Longa Mosteiro course is less undulated than the Penha Longa Atlantico, and offers moderated challenges which will suit to all levels of players. Some of the main difficulties of the Penha Longa Monastery golf course are fast greens and narrow fairways.

The Monastery golf course also benefits from the amazing landscapes of Penha Longa Resort, in Sintra, Portugal.

A challenging 9 holes course

Some interesting holes of the Penha Longa Monastery Golf Course are: the 4th – close to an ancient monastery, the 5th and the 8th where lakes give a special beauty along with the romantic Sintra mountains. Not to be forgotten hole Nr. 9, with a magnificent view over the Penha Longa Palace.
