The Silver golf coast an enthusiastic destination for golf and also one of the largest wine-growing areas in Portugal.

Comprising the municipalities of Alenquer, Arruda dos Vinhos, Bombarral, Cadaval, Caldas da Rainha, Lourinhã, Óbidos, Peniche, Rio Maior, Sobral de Monte Agraço and Torres Vedras, the region is united by a common culture and a very strong attachment to land and sea.

A land fulfilled with culture

You will find numerous Archaeological sites, from pre-historic caves to Cooperage Castles, Arab age Castles and Roman villages, aqueducts and bridges. The Middle Age is well represented with Medieval Churches and Monasteries, 15th century Forts, 17th and 18th centuries' manor houses and also a number of Fortifications from the period of the French Invasions.

A land of unspoiled nature

For nature lovers, walking tracks, are prepared and signalised in agreement with the European rules and also with a total extension of 120Km, between Salir do Porto and the area of the Protected Landscape in Serra de Montejunto.

In Paúl de Tornada (Environment Interpretation Center), located in the Natural Reserve of Berlenga Island (the only one maritime reserve of the country), or in Serra do Socorro, the espeleologic and alpinism lovers can enjoy themselves. On the other side, Lagoa de Óbidos (Lagoon), offers excellent conditions for the active practice of nautical sports.

Gastronomy & Tradition

Some attractions of the Region, includes: the Sea gastronomy with excellent restaurants/fish-pond of Peniche and Lourinhã/Porto Barcas and the gastronomic influence of the convent is evident in egg rolls and “cavacas” (light crisp cakes) from Caldas da Rainha, been pies from Torres Vedras and sponge cakes from Lendal, Painho and Rio Maior; the handicraft, that we can highlight the Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro ceramic from Caldas da Rainha and the bobbin lace (most distinguished craft) from Peniche.
