The Batalha Golf Course is situated on the north coast of São Miguel, just 10 min. from the centre of the capital city, Ponta Delgada in the Azores Islands of Portugal.

A combination of three 9-holes

The stunning Batalha golf course consists of 27-holes set on an historic site, one of the largest golf courses in Portugal.

Golf designer Cameron Powell presents those 27 holes in three loops of nine with multiple tee boxes in such a way that any combination of A, B or C—that is A + B, B + C or C + A—to make 18 holes will give a par of 72, with long wide generous fairways, sinuously contoured bunkers and excellent greens.

The views are just ... AMAZING!

Built on volcanic rock, the layout of Batalha Golf was designed in harmony with the natural landscape of the Azores. Batalha golf course is a mixture of links and woodland offering breathtaking views over the sea —particularly on the back nine- and the extraordinary landscape.

On a lucky day, golfers may see whales, dolphins and porpoises frolicking in the sea alongside the Batalha course.

Our favourite hole: Nr. 15

There is a very special sensation to be felt when standing on the soaring 15th tee (tee B 6) of Batalha Golf Course.

A touch of History

The Batalha golf course is set on an historical site where the battle waged between liberal and absolutist troops in the 19th century, fighting for political control of the main Azorean island of Sao Miguel.
